Hazel Mae Robinson entered eternal life on June 1, 2013 and was reunited with her loving husband Gareld "Robby". Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at the Grace Brethren Church, Waterloo, Iowa, with Pastor Ron Weimar officiating. Burial will be held at 9:00 A.M. July 9, 2013 at Reinbeck Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
Hazel was born on April 23, 1921, on th Strayer farm near Hudson, Iowa, to Wilma and Henry Brandhorst. She was the third oldest of nine children. Her parents, six brothers, William "Bill", Harold, Henry "Hank", Virgil, Gordon "Gordy", Robert "Bob"; two sisters, Elsie and Pauline "Pug" preceded her in death.
Hazel and Robby were married in Casebeer Heights, Iowa on September 23, 1942 and were married 63 years. Robby entered heaven on March 12, 2006. They were blessed with three children, Dean Allen, the oldest was born while Robby served in the Pacific during WWII. Dean died on August 31, 2011 in San Bernadino, CA. His wife Dora lives in Crestline, CA. Their son Gary lives in Colorado Springs. Their daughter Carol and her husband Richard Jans live in Coal Creek Canyon, CO. Hazel has eight grandchildren 13 great- grandchildren.
Hazel and her family moved from Waterloo to Reinbeck in 1952, She and Robby owned and operated Robby's Standard Service station in Reinbeck for more than 20 years. They enjoyed camping, fishing and playing cards with family and friends.
Hazel graduated from East High School in Waterloo. She was a long time member of the Grace Brethren Church of Waterloo where she taught Sunday school for many years.
