Harry G. Schiller, 80, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Burial will be held privately by the family at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Harry was born on July 1, 1938 in Waterloo, Iowa. He was the loving son of George and Corlena (Cordes) Schiller. He was raised in Grundy Center and graduated from Grundy Center High School. Harry was united in marriage to Lillie Jackson on February 17, 1962 at Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Harry and Lillie made their home in Grundy Center and welcomed four children into their family. Harry worked as a forklift operator at Clay Equipment in Cedar Falls, Iowa and owned & operated Schiller Sanitation Service in Dike, Iowa.
Harry had a life-long love of horses. He bred, sold, trained and showed horses. Harry was very proud to have won many trophies from showing his horses. Although he loved his horses; his true joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lillie Schiller; his children Tammie (Mike) Sieben of Hastings, MN, Dwayne (Roxanne) Schiller of Stout, IA, Danny (Pennie) Schiller of Cedar Falls, IA, and Valinda Hall of Grundy Center, IA; sister Lena DeLange; grandchildren Luke, Cody, Brooklyn, Trenton, Whitney, Britney, Hailey, Joseph, and Megan; great-grandchildren Alexie, Ayden, Addison, Layton, Ava, Ryker, Rayden, and Seneca; 10 step-great-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Herman, George, and Marvin; sisters Leona, Frances, and Ella.
