Harold G. Priske, 96, of Eldora, died at Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Eldora of natural causes on Friday, August 9, 2013, while under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Eldora. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be at Eastlawn Memory Garden. Memorials may be directed to the First Baptist Church and Valley View Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora.
Harold was born April 10, 1917, in Eldora, Iowa, son of George and Flora (Frerichs) Priske. He attended school in Eldora and graduated from Eldora High School in 1935. On May 15, 1937 Harold was united in marriage to Miriam G. Doud at Iowa Falls Baptist Parsonage in Iowa Falls. Harold served his country in the United States Air Force from 1944-1945. After his discharge from the service he started farming and retired from farming at 62 years old. He then went to work for the city of Eldora for 10 years. Harold raised and showed quarter horses. He also worked at Reisinger's Sale Barn for many years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church and American Legion in Eldora. Harold enjoyed hunting and fishing. Harold loved to spend time with his family and friends.
Harold is survived by his son, Steve and his wife Linda of Eldora; 5 grandsons; 11 great-grandchildrenand daughter-in-law, Karen Priske.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Miriam and son, Stanton Lee Priske.
