Harold M. Freese, 79, of Eldora, Iowa passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at the Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery in Eldora. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Harold was born on March 20, 1933 in Hardin County, Iowa; the son Carl and Elfreda Freese. He graduated from Steamboat Rock High School with the Class of 1953. Harold was united in marriage to Naomi Hagen on March 25, 1953.
Harold worked for Farm Services for 10 years. He then went to work for Cooper Manufacturing Services in Marshalltown, Iowa. He worked there as a Rule Die Maker for 43 years retiring in 2003.
Harold played a vital role in the establishment of the Eldora Ambulance Service, he worked as an EMT, a dispatcher for the Hardin County Sherriff's office and served on the Hardin County Emergency Squad.
Harold coached his son's in Little League, loved racing stock cars, enjoyed fishing and loved watching the Atlanta Braves.
Harold is survived by his wife Naomi; children, Vickie (Tommy) Arvin, Julia Salazar, Kevin (Connie) Freese and Jason (Angie) Freese; 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
