Harold Folkerts

Harold Wayne Folkerts, 91, of Iowa Falls, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Iowa Falls. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 2, at the First Baptist Church in Eldora, Iowa. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10AM. A committal service will be held following the luncheon at Steamboat Rock Cemetery in Steamboat Rock, IA. Memorials may be directed to the family. Creps-Abels Funeral Home is taking care of Harold and his family.

Harold Wayne Folkerts, son of Hie G. and Minnie (Harms) Folkerts was born on September 30, 1926 in Steamboat Rock, Iowa. Harold attended grade school in Steamboat, cutting his education short to join the Army and serve his country during the second world war. Harold was united in marriage to Audrey Walters on November 19, 1948 at the First Baptist Church in Eldora, Iowa. Harold was a proud member of the First Baptist Church for over 69 years. Harold farmed for several years and then worked for various seed corn companies for over 20 years, retiring in 1995. Harold enjoyed spending time with family and friends and woodworking.

Harold is survived by his children: Connie (Randy) Rose of League City, TX, Patsy Klatt of Iowa Falls, Steve (Beth) Folkerts of Steamboat Rock; six grandchildren and three great grandsons. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, wife Audrey, brother Dean, and sister Margaret Trampe.
