Harm Jerome Bleeker Jr., 70, of New Hartford, Iowa, died on Monday, June 11, 2007 at Sartori Memorial Hospital, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the New Hartford United Methodist Church, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., with the family greeting friend from 4:00 to 6:00. Funeral Services will be on Thursday at 10:30 A.M. at the Church. Pastor Carolyn Bittner will officiate. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Dike.
Harm Jerome Bleeker, was born November 13, 1936, in Grundy Center, Iowa, the son of Harm Jerome Bleeker Sr. and Phyllis Ash Aswegan. Harm was raised in the New Hartford and Dike area. On October 5, 1957 he was united in marriage to Leasa Dell Sells at the New Hartford united Methodist Church. Toby worked as a maintenance Technician at Viking Pump for 42 years. He retired in June 1999.
He is survived by his wife: Leasa; 2 sons: Jerry Bleeker of New Hartford, Iowa and Danny and his wife Pam Bleeker of Parkersburg, Iowa; 2 granddaughters: Sheila Callan, JoAnn Bleeker - Hansen; a step - granddaughter: Annette Eilderts; a great granddaughter: Zoie Callan and a step ? great-grandson: Andrew Eilderts; a brother: LaVern Aswegan of Evansdale, Iowa; a sister: Mary and her husband Tony Landrus of Anchor Point, Alaska; a sister: Phyllis and her husband Don Miller of Waterloo, Iowa; a brother: Larry Aswegan of New Hartford, Iowa; and a sister: Letha Carlson of Marshall, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son: Harm Jerome Bleeker III; and a brother: Roger Bleeker.
