Glen Maier

Glen Werner Maier, 71, of New Providence, Iowa, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 10, 2014. Services will be held at a later. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Glen was born on August 16, 1943 in Baraboo, Wisconsin, the son of Adam and Mildred Maier. He was raised on the family dairy farm in Cross Plains, Wisconsin. He was married to Sharon Perry and together they welcomed three children into their family. Glen worked as a welder for Ritchies Industry; he retired after 34 years of service.

Glen loved old tractors. He enjoyed working on them and going to tractor pulls and shows. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed road trips. He was an accomplished gardener of both vegetables and flowers. He loved animals and his true joy in life came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Glen is survived by his children Lillian Elliott, Glen G. (Lisa) Maier and Sherry (Dan) Linde; his former wife Sharon Maier; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; sisters Karen (Bob) Bakken and Nancy Maier; brother Vincent Maier and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donnie and Earle and sister Betty
