Gertrude E. Craig, 97, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away of natural causes, on Monday, June 3, 2013 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church in Grundy Center. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Gertrude was born on February 2, 1916 in LeRoy Township, Rural Tripoli, Bremer County, Iowa, the daughter of William and Hulda (Krueger) Hagen. Gertrude was united in marriage to Frank L. Mock in St. Peters Evangelical Church in June 1936. They were later divorced. She married John W. Moore on February 22, 1944. They farmed northeast of Grundy until 1985. They then moved to Grundy Center. John died in May of 1991. In 1997 she moved to Rogers, Arkansas where she married W.H. Craig. He passed away in 1998. Gertrude then moved back to Grundy Center where she continued to live until her passing.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Bonnie Mock of Grundy Center; three grandchildren Debra (Omar) Bouabidi of Rutherford, NJ; Kathy Mock of Grundy Center, Iowa and Kelly Mock of California; great-grandson Zachary Bouabidi; step-great-granddaughter Danielle Bouabidi; step-grandson Robbie Lee; a foster granddaughter Kristy Wood; half brother Gerald (Mary Lou) Bock of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law Eldora Hagen of Marshalltown, Iowa; nieces; nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands John W. Moore and W.H. Craig; sons Jerry E. Mock and Roger E. Mock; daughter-in-law Carol Mock; brother George Hagen and sister Elda Munsterman of Powell Butte, Oregon.
