Ellsworth
Municipal
Hospital
in
Iowa
Falls
.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, July 2 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with Pastor David Splett officiating.
Burial will follow in the
Eldora
City
Cemetery
with military honors provided by Walter-Sayer Post 182 of the American Legion and Roll-Harless Post 3974 of the VFW.
Visitation is from 5pm – 7pm on Thursday at Creps-Abels Funeral Home.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Gerald was born March 17, 1932 in rural
Hardin
County
, son of John Henry and Care Bertha (McGill) Lamasters.
He lived the majority of his life in
Hardin
County
. He was veteran of WWII serving with the US Army as a cook.
He worked as a cook at many different locations and also worked at his family’s sawmill business.
Gerald has been residing at the Eldora Nursing and
Rehab
Center
since September 1, 2001 and he enjoyed watching people while at the facility.
He is survived by a sister, Doris Stroh of
Humboldt
,
Iowa
and brother, Harold “Bud” Lamasters of
Loveland
,
Colorado
; and by many-many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jesse Smith, Betty Ball, and infant sister, Helen; and brothers, Wayne, Joe, Jerry, and Larrie Lamasters.
