George was born August 14, 1918 on a farm west of Eldora, Iowa, son of Louis and Martha (Dreifke) Goschke. He attended country school near Eldora. On September 1, 1942 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Jayne Walters in Eldora, Iowa. He was a Veteran of WWII serving with the Army Air Force for about sixteen months. George farmed on the family farm near Roughwoods, west of Eldora, until he retired in 1982 moving into Eldora. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he held several offices, Walter-Sayer Post 182 of the American Legion, and the Farm Bureau. George enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving George is a daughter, Pam (Tom) Kirkhart; son, Donald Goschke; and two grandchildren, Joe and Kara Kirkhart. Preceding him in death was his wife, Dorothy; parents; sister, Ella Becker; infant sister, Mildred Goschke; and two grandchildren, Tracie and Kon Kirkhart.
