Genevieve May Craven, 96, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital-Long Term Care Unit in Grundy Center, Iowa, from natural causes.
Genevieve was born February 14, 1910, in Marshall County, Iowa, the daughter of Jess Harter May and Lulu Ethel (Fiscus). Genevieve lived in the Union Iowa area graduating from Union High School in 1928 and Iowa State University in 1932. On June 28, 1941 she was united in marriage to Leslie Craven in Marshalltown, Iowa. The couple moved to Chicago, Ill and lived there until moving to Osceola, Iowa. In 1951 the couple moved to Grundy Center, Iowa. Genevieve was employed by Iowa State University, Grundy County for 20 years and Butler County for 4 years. Les passed away on January 5, 1971. Genevieve was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, P.E.O. Chapter AR, B.P.W. Epsilon Sigma Phi, The ISU Alumni Association and the ISU Extension Association.
She is survived by her daughters Judy and her husband Don McKulsky of Aurora, South Dakota, and Jackie and her husband Ron Cox of Clinton, Iowa; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren, a brother Cecil May of St. Charles, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her husband Leslie, her parents, Jess and Ethel May and two sisters: Mabel Hilsabeck and Bessie Irene May.
