Gene “Bob” Robert Voigt, 87, of Reinbeck, IA, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Parkview Manor Nursing Home, in Reinbeck. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, from 4 to 6 PM at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, with a masonic service to follow the visitation at 6PM. Bob was born on October 11, 1930 in Lacrosse, WI. He was raised by his loving grandparents, Franz and Bertha Voigt, in Dakota, MN. Bob attended school through the 8th grade. On October 14, 1955 Bob was united in marriage to Margaret Marie Wood at French-Hand Funeral Home. Bob worked at the Hudson Creamery and then as a machinist at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Waterloo, IA. He retired in 1992 after 20 years at Chamberlain. Bob was a Master Mason in Coin Lodge 394 of Reinbeck. In Bob’s spare time he enjoyed fishing with Mike, Sue and friends, as well as hunting, arrowhead hunting, singing and playing his mandolin with a group of musician friends, wood carving and collecting a wide variety of things.
Bob is survived by his children Michael (Susanne) Voigt of Doerentrup, Germany and Susan (Chris) Voigt of Virginia Beach, VA; special friend Karol Linder of Reinbeck, IA; grandchildren Kevin and Colin Voigt of Germany, Anthony (Donna) Clark of Chesapeake, VA, Stephanie Clark of Cary, NC, Tonya Clark of Newport News, VA and Lindsey (Ed) East of Waterloo, IA; great grandchildren A.J. Clark of Chesapeake, VA and Samuel, Lucia, and Benjamin East of Waterloo, IA; brother Kent (Janet) Stever of Lakesville, MN; sister Janet (Stever) Ahlgren of Burnsville, MN; sister in laws Marilyn Stever, Marian Stever, Eileen Stever, Donna Stever Hensley, Mary Schick and Marlys (Bob) Moore. Bob was preceded in death by his grandparents, wife and brothers Frank, Richard, George, and William.
