Gene H. Ruby, 80, of Marshalltown, Iowa, died on Monday, October 03, 2011 at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown. Following cremation, private family inurnment will be in the Steamboat Rock Cemetery in Steamboat Rock, Iowa. There will be no public services. Gene was born March 16, 1931 in Steamboat Rock, Iowa, son of Elmer and Ima (Hoover) Ruby. He graduated from high school in Brooklyn, Iowa then made his career with the Army Air Corp.. He has been a resident of the Iowa Veteran's Home for over 25 years.
Surviving are his brothers, Charles Ruby of Steamboat Rock, Iowa, Jim Ruby of Eldora, and Dean Ruby of Santa Monica, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elinore Richeson; and brother, Elmer Linn Ruby Jr..
