Gaye Muller

Gaye G. Muller, 58, of Grundy Center, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, December 16, 2013 at her home in Grundy Center while under the care of Iowa Hospice. A memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at 10:30 A.M. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in rural Reinbeck. Inurnment will be held privately by the family at a later date. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17th from 4 to 7 P.M at the Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center with a 7 P.M. scripture service. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Gaye was born on October 26, 1955, the daughter of George H. & Connie (Jacobson) Geerdes. She was raised in Grundy Center and graduated from Grundy Center High School with the class of 1973. Gaye began her career working for her father as a secretary at State Farm Insurance. She then went to work for a local accounting firm as an office manager. She was united in marriage to Les Muller on February 1, 1974 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grundy Center. Together, they welcomed two children into their family. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Her true joy in life came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren & nephew.

She is survived by her husband Les; daughter Angie (Brent) Thoren of Grundy Center and son Jordan (Jill) Muller of Reinbeck; grandchildren Lainy & Ryker Thoren and Julia Muller; brothers Brad (Linda) Tyrrell of Hubbard, IA, Mark Geerdes of Hudson, IA & Gary Geerdes of Wellsburg, IA; sister Lynn Geerdes of Chicago, IL; nephew Jake Lugo. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Hank Geerdes.
