Gary D. Dickerson, 75, of Eldora, Iowa, died at his home on Saturday, March 24, 2012. There will be no public services. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.
Gary was born March 4, 1937 in Webster City, Iowa, son of Lawrence E. and Margaret L. (Logan) Dickerson. He was raised and educated in Webster City and Clear Lake, Iowa and in 1956 was united in marriage to Susan K. Aman in Thornton, Iowa. Gary was employed as a long haul truck driver, driving for twenty years for Pride Transportation of Salt Lake City, Utah, before retiring to Eldora in 1998 for health reasons. During retirement Gary enjoyed woodworking.
Surviving is his wife, Susan; son, Don Dickerson of Albert Lee, Minnesota and his wife Jodi; daughter, Debra Dickerson of Des Moines; sister, Connie (Donald) Roberts of Waverly; and by seven grandchildren. Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Darren; sisters, Kay Trampel and Janette Blanchard; and brother, Larry.
