Gail Silverthorne

Gail Silverthorne, 87, of Dike, Iowa died Saturday March 15, 2008 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Gail was born in rural Grundy County IA on July 12, 1920 to Edward and Nita (Roberts) Kappleman. She graduated from Grundy High School in 1938. Gail loved to cook and worked at a number of food establishments in the area. Gail was a life long member of the Dike United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Dike Legion Auxiliary. Gail loved to take family outings to go fishing on the Mississippi River. Gail loved most of all spending time with her family.

Gail is survived by her daughter; Joan (Albert) Lotts of Hudson; daughter-in-law Carol Cox of Dike; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle; and son Don Cox.
