Freda Paterni, 93, of Wellsburg, Iowa, died Saturday, June 30, 2007, at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley, Iowa.
Freda was born December 21, 1913, on the farm near Wellsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Peter J. and Reka (Boldt) Meyer. Freda attended rural country school in Grundy County. In 1937 she was united in marriage to Lenus Paterni. The couple farmed for many years. Freda worked at Eekhoff cafAC. in Wellsburg. She later worked at Dodger Manufacturing in Eldora, Iowa. Freda was a member of the Wellsburg Reformed Church, and the Ladies Aid Society.
She is survived by her son: Stan and his wife Peggy Paterni of Waterloo, Iowa; 3 grandchildren Gary Paterni, Sherry Lewis and Sara Hofer; a brother: Duane and his wife Erma Meyer of Marshalltown, Iowa; a sister: Arlene and her husband Lyle Rodd of Grundy Center, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Lenus Paterni; a son: Larry Paterni; 2 grandsons: Jeff and Steve Paterni; and sister: Grace Heronimus.
