Freda Voll Crosser, 88, of Eldora, Iowa died on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown, Iowa. Visitation will be from 9 am to 10 am on Tuesday, October 9 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with burial in the Eldora City Cemetery at 10:00 am. Following burial, a memorial service will be at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora with Pastors David Splett and Bruce Zimmermann officiating. Freda was born April 18, 1924 on a farm north of Hubbard, Iowa, the youngest of eight children born to Minnie Nee Ruhnke and Emil Voll. She was baptized May 25th at St. John Lutheran Church at Hubbard. She received her education in country schools and Union Consolidated School and graduated from Eldora High School in 1941. She was employed in defense plants in Seattle and San Francisco during the World War II years.
On May 15, 1947 Freda was united in marriage to Jack W. Crosser at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was employed in several Eldora restaurants and at Dodger Manufacturing. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Eldora, the Lutheran women's Missionary League and Mary Mission Circle.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Jack in 1989; brothers, Kenneth, Rudolph "Tom", and an infant brother; and sisters, Leona Weisberg, Louise Martin, Gladys Clemons and Edna Harms.
