Frances A. Vinton, 89, of Eldora, Iowa, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora, Iowa, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 10, 2004, at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa, with Pastor Anne Lippincott officiating. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memory Garden Cemetery in Eldora, Iowa. Visitation will be Saturday, July 10, 2004, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to Amenity Hospice in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Frances was born July 21, 1914, in Rockford, Iowa, the daughter of J.H. and Lulu (Stielman) North. She received her education in Whitten, Iowa, and graduated from Whitten High School. In 1936, Frances was united in marriage to Darwin Vinton in Des Moines, Iowa. Following their marriage, Frances and Darwin made their home in Grundy County, Iowa. Together they farmed for many years. Frances was a farmwife and homemaker for most of her married life. Frances also worked at the Eldora Flower Shop for a time. In 1998, Frances moved to the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center.
She is survived by two nieces, four nephews, one step-grandson, and one step-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Darwin in 1996, and one son Jerry Vinton in 1989.
