Frances Eilderts, 93, of Aplington, Iowa, died Thursday September 13, 2007, at Maple Manor Care Center in Aplington, Iowa.
Frances was born June 5, 1914 in Hancock County near Wooden, Iowa. She was the daughter of Albert and Jennie (Harms) Korte. She was the oldest of seven children. She attended school in Minnesota and Parkersburg,
Frances married Harm Eilderts on February 23, 1937 at the First Reformed Church in Aplington, Iowa. During their marriage they farmed in the Aplington and Parkersburg area and retired to a home in Aplington. Harm died in January 1992.
Frances was a member of the first Reformed Church in Aplington. She taught Sunday school and catechism classes for many years. She made many quilts and wrote poetry about many special occasions. She was active in many community activities.
Suvivors include one son Roger and his wife Dee Eilderts of Wellsburg, Iowa; 3 grandsons Dave and his wife Diane Eilderts of Dike, Iowa, Dale and his wife Shelley Eilderts of Wellsburg, Iowa and Derek and His wife Sarah Eilderts of Hamel, Minnesota. 6 grandchildren: Zach, Mason, Jill, Jayne, Joy and Kaitlyn; one brother John Korte of Wyoming, Michigan; and one sister in law: Christine Korte of Dumont, Iowa.
Preceded in death by her parents, a daughter: Diane in infancy; 3 brothers: Herman, Louie and Elmer Korte; and 2 sisters: Ilene Bartell and Marian Beitelman.
