Floyd E. Van Tiger, 92 of Hampton, Iowa, formerly of Eldora died on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at the Rehabilitation Center of Hampton. There will be no public services. Floyd was laid to rest in the Eldora City Cemetery. Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora is in charge of the arrangements.
Floyd was born July 18, 1921, in Eldora, Iowa, son of Edwin and Sadie (Harms) Van Tiger. He was united in marriage to Wanda Delfs in August of 1947 and they farmed near Eldora. Floyd was also a machinist, welder, and locksmith. Floyd enjoyed piloting an airplane, riding his motorcycle, and playing in a band. He was an Army Veteran receiving an honorable discharge in 1943. He was a 70 year member of Walter-Sayer Post 182 of the American Legion.
He is survived by a step-daughter, Barbara DeVries; nieces and nephews, Jean Farley, James Broer, Joan Broer and Barbara Broer; and by 3 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Wanda on December 31, 2003.
