Florence Louise Jones, age 101, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Eldora Nursing & Rehab Center, in Eldora, while under Care Initiatives Hospice. Florence was born to George and Eva Margaret (Athey) Jenness on October 18, 1912. She attended and graduated from Quimby High School. She was married to Lloyd Clinton Jones on August 28, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa; together they welcomed their son Harold into their family. Florence worked at the Hardin County Home for many years, retiring in 1977.
Florence is survived by several nieces and nephews in the Cherokee, Iowa area. Her caretaker nieces Margaret Corzilius and Sandy Stubbe, both of Cherokee, Iowa; nephews Brian Jenness of Marcus, Iowa, Al Jenness of Moville, Iowa and Tom Jenness of Cherokee, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lloyd; son Harold Jones; brothers and sisters, Richard Jenness, Henry (Mildred) Jenness, Laura Jenness, Dorothy (William) Wilson, Buster (Dorothy) Jenness, Carl (Madeline) Jenness and Paul (Maxine) Jenness.
