Elvira Augusta Emma Engel, 91 of Eldora, passed away Monday, January 31, 2011 at the Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Eldora, with Pastor Mark Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldora City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Elvira was born March 2, 1919 in rural Eldora to her parents Max and Eda Ziesman. She graduated from Eldora High School. Elvira was united in marriage to Edwin Engel on September 6, 1939 at her parentsa�(TM) house just west of Eldora. They began their life together in Hubbard and lived there from 1939 to 1945. They then moved to the Eldora area. She and Edwin moved into Eldora upon Edwina�(TM)s retirement in 1980 and lived there the rest of their lives.
Elvira was a member of the First Baptist Church in Eldora since 1969 and a former member of the Salem Evangelical Church in Hubbard from 1939 a�" 1969. She was a former member of the Federated Club of Hubbard; a 4-H Club leader and Chairman of the Farm Bureau Ladies of Pleasant Township.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Boothby of Plano, TX, Kyle (Susan) Keller of Celina, TX, Wade Keller of Lawrence, KS and Ryan Keller of Kansas City MO; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Norma (Willard) Fairchild of Waverly, IA. Preceded in death by her parents; husband Edwin; daughter Karen Jean Keller and son-in-law Ronald James Keller.
