Elvin C. "Joe" Danielsen, 79, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Friday, August 24, 2007, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 27, 2007, at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Joel Love officiating. Burial will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 26, 2007, from 11:30 A.M. to 6:00 P. M., with the family present to greet friends from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. Memorials may be directed to the Union Congregational United Church of Christ.

Elvin Carl "Joe" Danielsen, was born July 4, 1928, at home on the farm in rural Traer, Iowa, the son of Nels Severin and Dorthea Christian (Larsen)Danielsen. Elvin attended rural country school and then graduated from Dinsdale High School. On December 5, 1948, Elvin was united in marriage to Alice Theresa Murphy at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. After their marriage, the couple moved onto the family farm in rural Traer and began farming. Throughout the years, the family enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada. Elvin also enjoyed bowling, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Elvin and Alice enjoyed fifty-four years of married life together. Alice died on December 3, 2003, and Elvin remained living on the family farm. Elvin loved his family and especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was a life-long member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his daughter Peg (Danielsen) Palma and her husband Dick of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one son Doug Danielsen and his wife Jill of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two grandchildren Jared Danielsen and his wife Shantel of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and Zach Danielsen of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and four great-grandchildren- Madisen, Dylan and Cameron Danielsen and Brooklyn Danielsen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Alice; and one brother Ove Danielsen.
