Elnora Taber, 89, of Eldora died from natural causes on Tuesday, January 10, 2006 at the Eldora Nursing and Rehab Center in Eldora. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2006 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with Reverend Harley Sampson of the First Assembly of God in Lee Summit, Missouri officiating. Burial will follow in the Hubbard Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at Creps-Abels Funeral Home. Elnora was born January 18, 1916, in Grant Township near Hubbard, Iowa, daughter of Simon and Matilda (Boeke) Brandt. She attended Mud Swamp Country School and was baptized and confirmed at Zion United Church of Christ in Hubbard. On January 1, 1941 she was united in marriage to Paul E. Taber at Zion United Church of Christ. Elnora lived her entire life in Hardin County moving to Eldora on August 10, 1972. She enjoyed walking, playing cards, and loved her family and grandchildren dearly. Many of her family and friends were treated to one of her angel food cakes on their birthdays.
Surviving are her sons, Paul (Shirley) Taber of Montgomery, Alabama, and Lyle (Joyce) Taber of Sac City; daughter, Lynn Rae Taber of Conrad; sister, Esther Sampson of Hubbard; brother, Clarence Brandt of Clear Lake; by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Chester (Gertrude) Taber of Steamboat Rock, Iowa; a sister-in-law: Audra Griffith of Pittsburg, Kansas; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul on February 16, 1982; her parents; sisters, Anna Seitz and Minnie Papenfuss; and brothers, Herman, John, Albert, Ed, and Arthur Brandt.
