Elmer Ray Lage, 73, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died Wednesday August, 22, 2007, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital.
Elmer was born December 15, 1933, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Alta (Rohweder) Lage. He graduated in the class of 1951 at Grundy Center High School. On March 8, 1953 he was united in marriage to Frances Kuehl at the church manse in Lincoln, Iowa. Elmer farmed around the Lincoln area for many years and then worked for the Lincoln Co-op for 32 years retiring in December of 2001.
He is survived by his wife: Frances of Grundy Center; a son: Micheal and his wife Deb Lage of Reinbeck, Iowa; two daughters: Colleen and her husband Thomas Eagan of Manchester, Iowa, and Barb DeVries of Grundy Center, Iowa; 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, and 1 great grandson; 3 brothers: Don and his wife Helen Lage of Grundy Center, Iowa, Russell and his wife Donna Lage of Holland, Iowa and Glen and his wife Karen Lage of Gladbrook, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son in law: Gary DeVries; and a brother: Murl Lage.
