Ella Staker

Ella Augusta Staker, 97, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Monday, March 23, 2009, at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 27, 2009, at Amity Presbyterian Church, rural Reinbeck, Iowa, with Pastor Diane Martin officiating. Private family committal will follow at the Grant Township Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church. Memorials maybe made to Amity Presbyterian Church in Ella's name.


Ella was born March 10, 1912, in rural Lincoln Township in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the daughter of Jens Peter and Augusta (Hansen) Petersen. She received her education in rural country schools and graduated from Reinbeck High School. Ella was united in marriage to Roy Staker September 21, 1932, in Bennington Township, Black Hawk County Iowa. Ella was a bookkeeper for the Lincoln and Dinsdale Elevators and also helped Roy out on the farm. She loved being around her farm animal and her pets. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ella was a member of the Amity Presbyterian Church in Reinbeck where she had been active in many church groups including the Amity Kitchen Band. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Alice Lorenz of Reinbeck, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Roy; brothers- Albert Petersen and Peter Iner Petersen.
