Ella J. Crosser, 83, of Steamboat Rock, Iowa died Friday, January 6, 2017 at Valley View Specialty Care in Eldora while under the care of Care Initiatives Hospice. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017 followed by her memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Eastlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Eldora.

Ella Jean Hoyt, daughter of Harvey and Sibyl Reece Hoyt was born on April 16, 1933 in Hardin County, Iowa. She received her education from Hardin County Country School and graduated from Eldora High School in 1951. On June 27, 1952 she married Jack C. Crosser at the First Baptist Church in Eldora, Iowa. She lived in Hardin County her entire life except for a brief time in Anchorage, Alaska while Jack honorably served in the United States Army. Ella was secretary at Northrup King in Eldora for 20 years until retiring in 1992. She enjoyed her vegetable garden, going dancing with Jack, playing the piano and playing cards. She loved and treasured the time she was able to spend with her family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband, Jack Crosser of Steamboat Rock, IA; two daughters, Gloria (Myron) Lawler of Coulter, IA; Cheryl (John) Stupp of Steamboat Rock, IA; son, Keith Crosser also of Steamboat Rock, IA; 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Ruth (Howard) Clingerman of Eldora, IA; Alice (Paul) Williams of New Providence, IA, and her twin sister, Edna (Roy) Thayer of (Mt Hood, Oregon). In addition to her parents, Ella was preceded in death by a grandson and a great grandson.
