Edna Morrow, 96, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Monday, February 25, 2008, at Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Reinbeck, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice. Edna Mary Petersen Morrow the daughter of William F. and Mayme (Kvidera) Petersen was born November 28, 1911, on a farm east of Reinbeck, Iowa. She moved with her folks to Toledo and then to Traer, where she attended school and graduated with the class of 1926. She then taught in rural schools, two years at Howard 8 and two years at Crystal 5.
On April 28, 1934, she was married to John R. Morrow Jr. They were the parents of four children Myrna, Robert, Ray and Max. They lived on the Morrow farm south of Reinbeck all their married life, until retiring in 1975 in Reinbeck. John died February 6, 1997, and after his death, Edna continued to live there.
Edna was a long time member of Amity Presbyterian Church. Her church, her home and her family were very important to her. She was a Sunday school teacher for several years and served in a number of offices in the Women's Association and Circle. She also belonged to the Women's Farm Bureau, the Fellowship Club, the Women's Club and many other organizations. Edna was a member of "Essie's Kitchen Band" a group from the church who went one day in the summer to Ackley Presbyterian Home in Ackley, and put a program on for the residents. They served ice cream and home made cookies and everyone enjoyed visiting with the group. They looked forward to meeting each other at each program they put on. Edna loved to work with flowers in her yard and garden. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and lot of hand work.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by her children, daughter; Myrna (Bob) Hays of Pearl MS, three sons; Robert (Barbara) Morrow, Ray Morrow, and Max (Joyce) Morrow all of Reinbeck; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great great-grandchildren.
