Edna Lyman

August 30, 1921 — May 2, 2008

Edna E. Lyman, 86, of New Providence, Iowa, died Friday, May 2, 2008, at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 5, 2008, at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa, with Pastor Arlen Daleske and Pastor Lloyd McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at the Eldora City Cemetery in Eldora. Visitation will be Sunday, May 4, 2008, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora. A memorial fund has been established.

Edna Ellen (Taute) Lyman was born August 30, 1921, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Frederic William and Elsie Ellen (Mulkins) Taute Berlin. Edna was raised and educated in Iowa Falls. On August 6, 1938, she was united in marriage to Everett Henry Lyman in Princeton, Missouri. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in the Eldora, Zearing and New Providence areas.

Edna was a very determined woman who loved animals of all kinds. Edna's family was the most important thing in life to her. Her best times were spent together with her family. She was also an excellent cook, often spending all day in the kitchen preparing meals for their farm help as well as making special holiday meals for her family to enjoy.

She is survived by her husband, Everett Lyman of New Providence, Iowa; one son, Keith Lyman and his wife Ellen of Roland, Iowa; two daughters, Barbara Dodge and her husband Richard of Mason City, Iowa; Angene ?Cookie? Lyman of Hubbard, Iowa; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one half sister, Helene De Oro of Elmonte, California.

She was preceded in death by her mother and her father; and one sister, Alice Crosser.
