Dwayne Sents

Dwayne A. Sents, 65, of Wellsburg, Iowa, died Thursday September 11, 2008, at Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa. Dwayne was born March 16, 1943 the son of Rudolf and Gertie (Mudderman) Sents in Aplington, Iowa. He grew up in the Aplington area and graduated from Aplington High School. He attended trade school in Omaha, Nebraska after high school. On October 2, 1963, Dwayne married Elaine F. Stahl at Colfax Center Presbyterian Church. They started their married life living in Wellsburg, then moving to rural Holland and then settling on a farm near Wellsburg. Before he found his true calling as a farmer, he held various positions with area business which included, Okones Implement of Wellsburg, Van Wechel Motors, Turner Farm Store both of Grundy Center and most recently Kenny and Eric Johnson Trucking of Aplington. Dwayne was a member of Colfax Center Presbyterian Church, where he held several positions in the church. He was a member of the Men's Interfaith Chorus and the quartet, Inspirations. Dwayne liked to watch college basketball on TV and any activities with his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.


He is survived by his wife, Elaine; sons Daniel (Lorraine)Sents of Holland, David(Mary) Sents of Winterset; 4 grandchildren; parents, Rudolf and Gertie Sents of Aplington; brothers, Kenny Sents of Tama; Rodney Sents of Aplington; sister, Dwanna Johnson of Aplington. Dwayne was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grand parents and a sister-in-law, Jolene Sents.
