Donald Watson

Donald R. Watson, 75, of Reinbeck, Iowa, died Saturday, November 26, 2005, in St. Charles, Illinois. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck, with Pastor Dave Nolte officiating. Private family burial will follow at the Reinbeck City Cemetery in Reinbeck. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29, 2005, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck, where the family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the Reinbeck United Methodist Church.



Donald Richard Watson was born January 13, 1930, in Reinbeck, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Margaret (Wittgreve) Watson. Donald received his education in Reinbeck and graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1947. On December 24, 1963, Donald was united in marriage to Patricia Martin in Montezuma, Iowa. Donald was a lifelong resident of Reinbeck. He was employed by Pioneer HiBred International for forty-six years. He retired in 1993. Donald was a member of the Reinbeck United Methodist Church, the Lions Club, and The Boy Scouts of America for twenty-five years. He was also a former board member of Cedar Valley Arboretum, and a member of the Iowa Rabbit Breeders Association. Donald loved gardening and landscaping.



He is survived by his wife Pat Watson of Reinbeck, Iowa; four daughters Donna Bell and her husband Russ of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Elaine Hossfield and her husband Bill of Hewitt, New Jersey; Carolyn Gminski and her husband Mike of St. Charles, Illinois; Glenda Martin and her husband Jeff of Simpsonville, South Carolina; one son Kevin Watson and his wife Tammi of Plainfield, Illinois; seven grandchildren; and one sister LaVonne Smith and her husband Frank of Bismarck, North Dakota.



He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Margaret Watson.
