Donald D. Kendall, 63, of Eldora, Iowa, died Friday, October 8, 2004, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa, of natural causes. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa, with Pastor Randy Crane officiating. Following the funeral service, cremation will follow with inurnment to occur at a later date. Visitation will be Monday, October 11, 2004, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora, Iowa, with the family present the entire time to greet friends. Donald was born June 10, 1941, in Gilmore City, Iowa, the son of Wilbur and Florence (Scott) Kendall. At the age of two, Donald moved with his family to Colfax, Iowa, where he also received his education. On August 31, 1963, Donald was united in marriage to Karen Earles at First Methodist Church in Mingo, Iowa. During the summer of 1966, the family moved to Eldora. Donald worked as an auto body mechanic, working for Purvis Body Shop and Wood Auto in Eldora, and also worked for Don?s Body Shop in Boone.
Donald loved fishing and hunting. He was a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife Karen Kendall of Eldora, Iowa; three sons Brian Kendall and his wife Jami of Eldora, Iowa; Kelly Kendall and his wife Marcia of Eldora, Iowa; and Michael Kendall of Boynton Beach, Florida; six grandchildren Kendra, Michaela, Dakota, Brady, Brianna and Tyler Kendall; one brother Jim Kendall of Colfax, Iowa; one sister Margie McCuen and her husband Keith of Colfax, Iowa; five sisters-in-law Wilma Churchill and her husband Hubert of Newton, Iowa; Pat Lewis and her husband Richard of Colfax, Iowa; Barbara Dhondt and her husband Dan of Republic, Missouri; Sherrie Rutherford and her husband Jerry of Gilman, Iowa; Brenda Jones and her husband Craig of Colfax, Iowa; one brother-in-law Bill Earles and his wife Jean of Colfax, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Beryl and Lowell Kendall; and two sisters Betty Kendall and Shelby Walters.
