Dianne L. Stoakes, 55, of Grundy Center, died from natural causes on Monday, September 5, 2005, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa. Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, September 8, 2005, at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home, in Grundy Center, with Pastor Dave Turner officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Reinbeck Cemetery in Reinbeck, Iowa. Visitation is from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Dianne was born October 1, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa, daughter of Herman L. and Mildred J. (Wheeler) Schiller. Dianne was raised and educated in Grundy Center, Iowa where she graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1968. Dianne was united in marriage to Virgil Dean Stoakes on September 2, 1978 at the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center. Dianne worked as the bookkeeper for Virgil's lawn care business. Dianne was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center.
She is survived by her husband Virgil; two sons, Jay B. Stoakes of Grundy Center, Iowa; and Edward L. Stoakes of Grundy Center, Iowa; her parents Herman and Mildred; and one sister Karen Simms of Grundy Center, Iowa.
She is preceded in death by an infant sister: Shirlee Ann Schiller.
