Diane Ruth Stoppelmoor, 51, of Grundy Center, died after a long battle with cancer, on Monday, May 15, 2006 at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center under the care of the Cedar Valley Hospice.
Diane was born September 27, 1954 in Hampton, Iowa, the daughter of Theodore Berton and Elsie June ?Peterson? Crabtree. She was raised and educated in Sheffield, Iowa and attained her BA in Elementary Education from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. On July 10, 1976 she was united in marriage to Sterling Stopplemoor in Sheffield, Iowa. The couple moved to Grundy Center in 1978. They owned and operated Stoppy?s Allstar Restaurant in Grundy Center. Diane was a member of the Grundy Center United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband: Sterling; two daughters: Michelle Lee Stoppelmoor and her fiancAsh Ty Haren of Grundy Center, and Angela May Stoppelmoor of Grundy Center; her mother: Elsie Crabtree of Ankeny, Iowa; four brothers: Steve Crabtree of Edwardsville, Illinois, Larry and wife Elaine Crabtree of Hampton, Iowa, David and wife Eileen Crabtree of Springfield, Illinois, and John and wife Lynn Crabtree of Lyons, Nebraska; four sisters: Mary and husband Richard Minnier of Aredale, Iowa, Debra and husband Kenny Buennecke of Malakiff, Texas, Peggy Jonas of Ankeny, Iowa, and Laura and husband Robert Lockhart of Des Moines, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her father Theodore Crabtree.
