Dennis Eugene Bowers was born February 25, 1959 in Glendale, Arizona, son of Robert Earl and Leona Margaret (Bartlet) Bowers. He was raised in Danvers, Minnesota graduating from Benson High School. He attended Staples Community College to become certified as a crane operator. He worked as a crane operator for McGough Crane and Construction out of Fort Dodge, Iowa until September of 2009, when he became disabled due to a back injury. He was a member of Local 234. He has lived in the Eldora area for 13 years. He enjoyed operating cranes, deer hunting, restoring vehicles, flying remote airplanes, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his companion, Debra Witt of Eldora; daughters, Angela (Scott) Johnson of Little Falls, Minnesota, DeAnn Mylund of St. Cloud, Minnesota and Hannah Collins of Clontarf, Minnesota; step-children, Justin (Nicole) Sutton of Eldora, Lindsay (Lance) Parsons of Burlington, Margaret Sutton of Eagle Grove and Marvin Sutton of Eldora; sister, Yvonne Beliunas of Eugene, Oregon; brother, David Bowers of McKennie, Texas; and by 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Bowers. Memorials may be directed to his companion, Debra Witt.
