Deloris Rogers

Deloris A. Rogers, 76, of Eldora, died at her home on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 while under the care of her family and Iowa Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldora with Father Paul Baldwin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Eldora. Visitation is from 5 pm to 8 pm on Friday, July 13 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora with prayer services starting at 5 pm.

Deloris was born January 28, 1936, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, daughter of Howard and Margaret (Bradley) Otto. She graduated from the Eldora High School in 1955 and on June 8, 1957 Deloris was united in marriage to Delbert E. Rogers at St. Mary's Catholic Church. They made their home in Eldora where they raised their family of five children, Tom, Deb, Mike, Mary and Ed. She had several places of employment including, Sween Law Office, Iowa Light and Power, Infant Seat, Ramco and Hy-Vee.

Deloris was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Eldora where she sang with the choir, was a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society, and studied with the Agnes Dei Study Club. Her love of music led her to sing with the Sweet Adeline's and the Cecilians, and she also served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Her greatest joy came from family and grandchildren, and she enjoyed cooking for them and her extended family.

She is survived by children, Tom and Lori Rogers of Des Moines, Deb and Tom Priske of Eldora, Mike and Kelli Rogers of Eldora, Mary and Dale Graffunder of Eldora, and Ed and Jamie Rogers of Waukee; sister, Jean (Craig) Baldwin of Aurora, Colorado; brothers, Dean (Jane) Otto of Kaiser, Oregon and Ray Otto of Fort Collins, Colorado; and by10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Delbert on September 25, 2009; her parents; brother, Joe Otto; sisters, Nancy Sly and Louise Crosser; and grandson, Tommy Rogers.
