Delbert R. Wrage, 78, of Hudson, passed away at his home on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church in Eagle Center, Iowa with Father Ray Atwood officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck with a 7:30 P.M. scripture service. Interment will be at the Blessing Cemetery. Memorial may be directed to the family.
Delbert Reimer Wrage the son of John and Pauline (Boll) Wrage was born November 16, 1934, in Waterloo, Iowa. Delbert grew up in the Hudson area and attended and graduated from Hudson High School in 1953. On November 26, 1955, Delbert was united in marriage to Dorothy Kuriger at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Waterloo, IA, Iowa. To this union six children were born. He was a farmer who enjoyed playing cards, camping, woodworking and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Delbert was a member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Eagle Center and Knights of Columbus. Delbert farmed his entire adult life and also worked at Hudson Coop for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gladys and daughter, Mary Wrage.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Hudson; daughters, Roxy Wrage of Hampton, Terri Holub and husband Mark of Scribner, NE, Sandy Keith and her husband Tom of Hudson; sons, Rich Wrage and his wife Colleen of Boone, IA and Mike Wrage and wife Marlene of Hudson; 19 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Allen (Judy) Wrage of Waterloo and Les (Mary Lou) Wrage of Hudson.
