David Louie Isenhower, son of Raymond and Goldie Wilhelmi Isenhower was born February 28, 1952 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was raised in Marshalltown and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1970. Dave attended Marshalltown Community College for one year. In 1972, he was drafted in the last military draft, and served in the U.S. Army stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Before going to his assignment, he married Laura Lea Bartlett on March 11, 1973 at the Clemons United Church of Christ in Clemons, Iowa. The couple made their first home in Okinawa for 14 months. Following his discharge in 1974, they lived in Marshalltown where Dave worked for Strand's Bakery. In 1979, they moved to Gifford, and then to Eldora, where he worked at Pine Lake Lumber. Dave later worked for Eldora New Providence Community School as a janitor and bus driver for 12 years. He also worked at Quakerdale and most recently at Quality Products as a forklift driver. Dave enjoyed playing golf and bowling. He was a civil war buff and also loved reading Louie Lamour westerns and watching John Wayne movies. Dave was a loving, thoughtful husband, dad, and papa, who always had a quick joke for everyone and loved giving everyone a hard time. He was a hard worker, but always put his family first, and was a brave stomach cancer warrior, fighting hard to beat it.
