December 16, 1955 — July 22, 2005

Daryl G. Anderson, 49, of Wellsburg, Iowa, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa, from complications following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 26, 2005 at First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg, Iowa, with Pastor Tom Vos officiating. Burial will follow at First Christian Reformed Church Cemetery, rural Wellsburg. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., on Monday, July 25, 2005, at First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg, where the family will be present the entire time to greet friends. Visitation will also be Tuesday morning at the funeral home from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., and also for one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Daryl was born December 16, 1955, in Grundy Center, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital, the son of John J. and Nellie Marie (Abbas) Anderson. He attended Timothy Christian School through eighth grade and Wellsburg High School where he graduated in 1974. He began a construction company with his brothers? Rodney & Mike in 1976. In 1978, Marvin Bierman became his partner and they began Anderson-Bierman Construction. Daryl was baptized at the Ackley Christian Reformed Church and he attended and became a communicate member of First Christian Reformed Church in rural Wellsburg. He was active in the church being a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and a Deacon. On March 26, 1983, Daryl was united in marriage to Brenda Harrenstein at First Christian Reformed Church, rural Wellsburg. They were blessed with three children Gene, Trisha, and Cassandra. Daryl enjoyed camping, fishing, and raising horses. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Brenda Anderson of Wellsburg, Iowa; one son Gene Anderson at home; two daughters Trisha Anderson at home and her friend Brian Kajewski; and Cassandra Anderson at home; his parents John and Marie Anderson of Aplington, Iowa; three brothers Rodney of Manassas, Virginia; Mike Anderson and his wife Diane of Aplington, Iowa; Derwin Anderson of Aplington, Iowa; one sister Shelly Hook and her husband David of Grundy Center, Iowa; four nephews Travis & Blake Hook of Grundy Center; Joshua & Matthew Wiederkehr of Rockford, Illinois; one step nephew Aaron and two step-nieces Miriam and Heather Anderson of Aplington; his mother-in-law Bernice Harrenstein of Wellsburg; and many other relatives and friends.

Daryl was preceded in death by his grandparents Andrew and Annie Anderson and George and Gertie Abbas; and his father-in-law Harris Harrenstein.
