Darleth Mae "Dot" Wedemeier, 79, of Grundy Center, Iowa, died of natural causes, Tuesday, April 5, 2005 in her home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center, Iowa with Pastor David Turner officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. at the Grace Lutheran Church Cemetery in Tripoli, Iowa. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2005 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 at Engelkes - Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, Iowa.
Dot was born on March 30, 1926 in Tripoli, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Christ and Lulu Louise (Nolting) Wedemeier. She was raised in Bremer County and attended the Sumner Lutheran Church School. Dot lived in Tripoli, Iowa until 1995 when she moved to Grundy Center, Iowa. Dot babysat and worked at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa as a housekeeper until she retired in October of 1990. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Grundy Center.
She is survived by one sister, Mardell V. (Dale) Mulford of Grundy Center, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Wilbert, Floyd, Ralph, Howard, her twin brother Donald, Virgil and Vernon Wedemeier; one sister, Leona Staack; and infant sister and brother, Florine and Duane.
