Daniel Butterfield, 24, of Toledo, Iowa, died Saturday, November 7, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, November 16, 2009, at First Baptist Church in Reinbeck with Pastor Cal Turner officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 15, 2009, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. with the family present to greet friends at French Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. A memorial fund has been established.
Dan was born on May 25, 1985, in Waterloo, IA, the son of Virgil & Kristine (Barnes) Butterfield. Dan was raised in the Reinbeck area and attended Reinbeck schools, but later moved and graduated from South Tama High School in 2003. On February 29, 2008, Dan married Petrice Painter. Dan worked as a bingo caller at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, Iowa. Dan liked spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Petrice; daughter Emma Hendricksen of Osceola; parents Vigil & Luann Butterfield of Waterloo, Kristine Butterfield & Craig Willaby of Tama; brother Matt Butterfield of Waterloo; step-sisters Kallie Willaby, and Jessica DeWater; maternal grandmother, Virginia Barnes of Reinbeck and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Wilbur & Fern Butterfield and maternal grandfather Kenneth Barnes.
