Dale Heath

Dale M. Heath, 87, of Grundy Center, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2012, while under the care of Cedar Valley Hospice at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in Grundy Center, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Engelkes-Abels Funeral Home in Grundy Center, Iowa. A graveside service will be held privately by the family at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery in Denver, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family.

Dale was born on April 8, 1924 in Jefferson, Iowa, the son of George and Drusilla (Dagit) Heath. He was united in marriage to Leona Schweer on February 3, 1946 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Crane Creek, Tripoli, Iowa. Dale worked for John Deere for 33 years, retiring in 1973. Dale and Leona moved to Grundy Center in 1991. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, camping and woodworking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dale is survived by his wife Leona; children, Dennis (Sandy) Heath of Mission, TX and Debra (Dennis) Cameron of Steamboat Rock, Iowa; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sister Orvetta Cherry of Cedar Rapids, IA and brother Marvin (Betty) Heath of Otho, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Evonne Jean Heath and brother Lawrence Heath.
