Connie Guiles

Connie Guiles, 71, of Union, Iowa passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Public graveside services for Connie will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at the Sheppard Cemetery with Pastor Harrison Lippert officiating.  Public visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Creps Abels Funeral Home located at 905 Edgington Ave, Eldora, IA 50627 where her family will be present to greet friends.  Memorial contributions may be directed in Connie’s name to her family which will be later designated elsewhere.  For further information or to leave a condolence, please visit www.abelsfuneralhomes.com.  Creps Abels Funeral Home is caring for Connie and her family.

Connie Haupt was born on November 14, 1949 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Thies) Haupt.  She was raised and educated in the Butler County school district where she graduated from Dumont High School.   Following her graduation, Connie went onto obtain her teaching degree at the University of Northern Iowa.  On September 6, 1975, Connie was united in marriage to Rick Guiles in Union, Iowa.  From this union two sons were born: Casey and Quenten.  Rick passed away in October of 2010.  Connie dedicated her working career to Whink Products Company until her retirement in 2012. After retirement, she created lasting memories by making quilts and blankets for each of her grandchildren.  Connie had a passion for sewing, quilting, gardening, and baking but her overall joy in life was spending time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Casey (Janelle) Guiles and Quenten (Nicole) Guiles; grandchildren: Ava, Cash, Avery, Wyatt, Winter, Westin, Gaia, Athena and Luna Guiles; father-in-law: Harold Guiles; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

She is preceded in death by her husband: Rick Guiles and parents: Clarence and Esther Haupt.
