Charlotte Mazurik, age 70 of Eldora, died on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Eldora Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on December 6, 1943, to Guy and LaDora Baker in Eldora. Charlotte graduated from Eldora High School in 1962.
Charlotte enlisted in the Army in August of 1964. It was there she met her husband David Mazurik. They were married in March of 1966 in Elkton, Maryland. Upon their return to Eldora, Charlotte served as the office manager in their freight business. Charlotte served as Past Commander of the Legion, and Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star. In her free time, Charlotte enjoyed painting and drawing, and spending time in her flower garden. She was very proud of the accomplishments of her grandchildren, and made everyone aware of her love for them. Charlotte showed her love of children by becoming a foster parent for many children, and loved babysitting for children in the neighborhood. Charlotte was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, and also the Hardin County Historical Society.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter Sandy (Scott) Williams; grandchildren Katie Williams, Charlie Williams, Becky Mazurik, and Andy Mazurik; sister Marlene Tyndall, and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; son Thomas; brother Charles Baker and sister Kathrin Baker.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Eldora at 10:30 am, with Reverend Corey Larson presiding. A visitation will be held at Creps-Abels funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will follow the Wednesday service at Sheppard Cemetery in Gifford, with military honors provided by American Legion-Walter-Sayer Post #182 and V.F.W. Roll-Harless #3974. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
