Visitation for Cathy will be held on Thursday, June 28th from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the French-Hand Funeral Home in Reinbeck. We will leave in procession at 2:00 PM to the Reinbeck Cemetery following visitation, for a graveside service with Rev. Joel Love officiating. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Cathy was born on February 11, 1931, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, to her parents Frank & Maude (Davison) Ademite. Cathy moved at the age of 5 to the Iowa Soldiers 'Orphans' Home and later to the Annie Wittenmeyer School in Davenport. She graduated high school in 1949 and later attended nursing school. She worked a short time as a nurse for Dr. Verduyn in Reinbeck but worked mostly as a homemaker. She was a resident of Reinbeck, Cedar Rapids, Minneapolis and back to Oskaloosa, where she has been a resident for 30 years.
She enjoyed quilting, knitting, needle point and cooking. She was a collector of all things, especially cook books! Cathy was a social butterfly, loved having coffee and socializing with her family and friends and no one was a stranger to her. She was very caring and inviting, affectionately known as “Grandma”. She will be dearly missed by those dear to her; her loved ones left behind.
