Caryl Moye, 96, of Reinbeck, Iowa died May 29, 2017 at The Elms Assisted Living in Reinbeck, Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Reinbeck with Reverend Joel Love officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Reinbeck Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Caryl's name to the church.
She was born September 27, 1920 in Reinbeck, daughter of John and Pearl Dirks Schlicht. On May 6, 1944, she married Kenneth Herbert Moye in Dyersburg, Tennessee. He preceded her in death August 2, 2001.
She graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1938. She then became a registered nurse graduating from St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa and worked at several of the area hospitals through the auspices of the nurse registry.
Mrs. Moye and her husband farmed in rural Tama County, then in Grundy and Black Hawk Counties. They moved to Reinbeck in 1980 and retired from farming in 1993.
She was a member of the Union Congregational United Church of Christ and the Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her two daughters, Charla (Richard) Bertrand of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kathy Moye of Waterloo, Iowa, one grandson and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband Kenneth.
