Carol Ann Thede, lovingly known as "CT," was born on March 10, 1958, in Grundy Center, Iowa. She passed away on November 2, 2024, in Waterloo, Iowa, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, community spirit, and cherished memories.
CT graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1976, continued her education at Grandview College in Des Moines and graduated from Westmar College Le Mars Iowa with a BA in Physical Education. She dedicated many years of her professional life to working at PCI and as a Press Operator at Traer Manufacturing. Her commitment to her career showcased her unwavering work ethic.
In addition to her accomplishments, Carol was known for her vibrant personality and her deep love for her community. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, proud member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and active supporter of the GR Booster Club, where she showed her unwavering support for local sports. Her enthusiasm extended beyond the community as she was an avid Miami Dolphins fan, always celebrating her team's victories with great passion.
CT had a love for the outdoors and found joy in mowing the grass around her community. This simple yet fulfilling hobby was not only a way for her to connect with nature but also a means through which she contributed to the beauty of her surroundings.
She is survived by her beloved siblings, Kathy Beenken, Mike (Caryn) Thede, Connie Thede, Jerry (Connie) Thede, and Jim (Kim) Thede, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry on her memory and the lessons she imparted throughout her life.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Irma Thede, and her brother, Craig Thede.
Visitation will be held on November 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, located at 405 Broad St in Reinbeck, Iowa. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow on November 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM, also at First Presbyterian Church.
Carol Ann Thede's spirit will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her. Her contributions to her community and her loving nature are a testament to her character and the impact she made on those around her.
