Caris Jenika Gardner, four and a half month old infant daughter of Joshua and Tiffany Gardner of New Providence, Iowa, died on Saturday, June 01, 2013 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa while under the care of Homeward Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at the Honey Creek New Providence Friend's Church in New Providence, Iowa with Pastors Gina Spohnheimer and Justin Weber officiating. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, June 5 at Creps-Abels Funeral Home in Eldora and online condolences may be posted at www.abelsfuneralhomes.com.
Daughter of Joshua and Tiffany Gardner, Caris entered this life early, being born on January 16, 2013 at Ellsworth Hospital in Iowa Falls, Iowa. Caris was transferred by Life Flight to Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines Iowa where she spent the first 61 days of her short life in the neonatal intensive care unit.
Left to cherish the memory of Caris is her parents, Joshua and Tiffany Gardner of New Providence; brothers, Tayeshun Sly and Cooper, Dekon and Driver Gardner; maternal grandparents, Ken and Linda Sly of New Providence; and paternal grandparents, Allen and Sharon Watts of Ellsworth, Iowa. Preceding Caris in death was her paternal grandfather, Robert Gardner Sr.
