Burnice Saathoff

Burnice Iva Saathoff, 87, of Tucson, Arizona Saturday - March 24, 2007 at the Hospice Family Care in Tucson, Arizona. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M., Monday, April 2, 2007, at First Baptist Church in Grundy Center, Iowa, with Pastor Dennis Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at the church. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Grundy Center, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established.
Burnice was born July 14, 1919, in Huntington, Iowa, Iowa, the daughter of Morris and Savannah (Lynch) Pierce. She graduated in the class of 1936 at Grundy Center High School in Grundy Center, Iowa. On June 25, 1960 she was united in marriage to Thile B. Saathoff. The couple lived in Long Beach, California and Grundy Center, Iowa, where Burnice worked as a bookkeeper for various Co-ops.
She is survived by her husband: Thile of Grundy Center; a daughter: Katherine and her husband Duane Lange of Tucson, Arizona; 3 grandchildren: Chad, Christine, and Danielle; 2 great grandchildren: Kayla and Saith; 1 sister: Mary Viet of Hudson, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 sisters: Doris Ford, Mernal Schafer and Jean Watkins.
